Special Weekend!

Hello all,

We are getting ready for another busy weekend here at Refuge!  We are welcoming the new 6^th graders into our group.  Let’s make this special for them.  We want to “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” as it says in Romans 15:7.

Saturday, July 27

·        SHHHHHH….. IT’S A SECRET!!!!

·        I HAVE DELETED THIS INFO!!! ITS A SECRET! CONTACT KERI FOR INFO!!

·        Refuge will pay for the 6^th graders Six Flags ticket & concert ticket.  All of the “extras” at Six Flags are up to them to cover (drinks, food, souvenirs).  THIS IS ONLY IF YOU RSVP TO ME THAT YOUR YOUTH IS GOING TO SIX FLAGS.

·        After breakfast, everyone will go home (and take a nap) then we will meet back up at 2:30 PM to head to Six Flags for Christian Weekend & the Concert!

·        The concert is $25.99 plus the price of admission to Six Flags.

·        PLEASE LET ME KNOW THE FOLLOWING:

·        Who is going?

·        Do you have a pass to get in or do you need a ticket

·        If we buy everything before we go, we will get a discount and WE WANT A DISCOUNT!

Sunday, July 28

·       Sunday afternoon, we will have a pool party for the 6^th graders which the current youth will host!

·        The party will be at Cheryl Jennings house: CONTACT KERI FOR THE ADDRESS!!!!! 

·        We encourage all parents & youth to attend so that we can get to know everyone.  PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHO IS COMING! PLEASE!

·        Bring your own lawn chairs.

·        3:00 PM – All current youth and parents meet at Cheryl’s house

·        4:00 PM – All new 6^th graders and families meet at Cheryl’s House

·        5:00 PM – WE EAT!

·        8:00 PM – Everyone goes home L

A few things about this weekend....

TOMORROW~FRIDAY: We will meet at the church at 6:00 pm to FLOCK! Be here! :) Yes, we are still flocking!

SATURDAY~We will meet at 9:00 AM to play Softball (the place is not set yet)!
       
Saturday evening we will FLOCK again.

SUNDAY~We will NOT have regular Sunday School.  If you come to Sunday School at 9:15 AM we will meet in the Fellowship Hall and listen to the Missionary Speakers from Asia. MEET IN THE FELLOWSHIP HALL!

Upcoming Stuff!

Hello all,

Well, we all made it back from camp in one piece.  Some of us have bruises, scratches and bites but nothing major…Praise God!  I think everyone had a great time at camp this past week.  The majority of the youth asked if we could go back next year!

• The cost of this is $25 per person. Which I need this Wednesday, July 17.
• We have a 2 hour time slot for 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
• We will meet at the church at 4:30pm.
• All youth & parents are welcome to join us! Just let me know, because I have RSVP with a number. (We only have 4 as of now but we need at least 9 more)
• If you RSVP and then decide not to go, you will be responsible for the full payment.

• We made $200 selling snow cones and water!

·        Food & Dude was amazing! We had 15 kids and 6 adults go with us! WOW!!

Tuesday, July 9 – EXTREME CAMP

• Please read over the packing list once again and make sure your youth has everything they need.  If you have to check their bag.  I say this because we had several youth on the Mission Trip that didn’t have the things they needed. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!!
• THEY MUST HAVE A BIBLE, A ONE PIECE SWIMSUIT, A WATER CANTEEN, TENNIS SHOES, BEDDING & SHOWER STUFF!
• If you have fans, please bring them.  Anything to help keep us cool at night.
• All of the activities are outside, so please pack accordingly!
• Please don’t pack or wear short shorts! MODEST CLOTHING.
• If you have a question about something being too short….it probably is!
• We will return on Saturday, July 13.  We will leave the camp after lunch.  We will text and all when we leave.

Extreme Camp

Here is a SAMPLE schedule from the camp. This is not our actual schedule. We will be going to a water park, paintball, a ropes course and an obstacle course.

Hello all,

I hope everyone is have a great day so far! The weather is beautiful, the birds are singing and God is good! I want to share some important information with everyone.

TODAY, Wednesday, July 3

• We will have Refuge at 7:00 pm at the church

Thursday, July 4 – CITY OF IRVING PARADE

• Refuge will sell snow cones during the parade!
• The parade begins at 9:00 AM, so please be here between 7:30 - 8:00 AM to help get everything ready!
• Youth will make snow cones, sell snow cones and walk around to promote snow cones.

Sunday, July 7

• There is not choir practice during the Summer.
• This Sunday night we will meet at the church 5:00pm for “Food & Dude”

• Food and Dude is where we go to a food place and talk about the “dude” (Jesus)

·        Please bring your own money to eat. ($10)

·        We will go to Five Guys Burgers & Fries

·        We will return back to the church at 7:00 PM

• I still need some of your insurance cards.  The camp requires a copy of everyone insurance card. Please send it to me ASAP so I can send it to t he camp.  They need them now.  If you want you can just take a picture of the card with your phone and text it to me and I will print it.

Welcome back to all of the Mission Trip peeps!  We hope everyone got some much deserved rest! We worked hard but also had a blast!!! The blog has been updated. (www.irvingrefuge.blogspot.com) A photobucket account will be updated soon.

Tomorrow night, June 26 – REFUGE

• We will not meet for our regular Refuge Bible Study.
• We will meet at Jennifer Parks house at 7:00 PM for a movie night.

This Saturday, June 29 - CELEBRATE FREEDOM

• Angie Craft is going to get us tickets
• The youth WILL need money because they have shirts, food, drinks and other fun activities that go on throughout the day.  We cannot take ice chest into the park. Therefore we will have to buy water in the park!
